Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

New ad slogans from the American Sauerkraut council.
Sauerkraut: "When you just can't wait two weeks for food to go bad."
Sauerkraut: "Its like silage for people!"
Sauerkraut: "The snack treat your dog won't steal."
Sauerkraut: "When you are sick of people wanting seconds."

sauerkraut: it belongs on Knockwurst and Bratwurst (the real ones, not those things Johnsonville calls "Brats")
And Kielbasa.
And hot dogs

Now I'm hungry
Going home and firing up the grill, I think I have a few bratwursts in the fridge.
:ok

I had sauerkraut in Prague once, it was a wholly different foodstuff to the mass produced stuff I was used to.

Utterly wonderful, but spoiled me against using the jars of stuff in UK supermarkets forever.

Why waste time with sauerkraut when there's kimchi?

I've never had kimchi, looks like something I would like!

I love Kimchi...

We always have a jar (or two) around...

I eat it on burgers, cold-cut sandwiches, mixed with rice or chow mein, with cheese slices, or just out of the jar by itself...

Chow mein? Does it still come in the two cans taped together? It's been years since I've seen it on a menu.

Chow mein? Wasn't that Hitler's second book; the one about dogs?
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Huh? It's available in every Chinese restaurant I've ever eaten in, or ordered take-out from...(I prefer it to rice)...

I'd be astonished to find a Chinese restaurant around here that didn't have it on the menu...

You can also by it dry in the Asian section of the super market...

(I remember that gross LaChoy stuff in the cans when I was a kid...my mother made it once and never again...)

I just did a quick search for a couple of the local Chinese restaurants we go to/order from; here are their menu pages:

http://www.emmyschinesesf.com/menu/

http://chefmingsf.com/menu.htm

They both have seven different varieties of Chow Mein...(6-10 different varieties in Chinese restaurants is pretty typical around here...a couple I don't see on those two menus that are popular are Mongolian Beef Chow Mein, and Tomato Beef Chow Mein...sometimes I'll get an order of plain Chow Mein to have instead of rice with Mongolian Beef, Kung Pao Shrimp, etc)

LJ, the Emmy's menu brings back some good memories. The spousal unit and I ate there often. I'm glad they're still around (although the chance of my driving 45 miles for dinner are slim!)
